Just a quick question and suggestion on this kind of topic.
Why do the available updates not work on the DVD retail boxed versions of the game?
In my case the latest patch for Trinity is 1.37 and is 23MB. A full download of the game is 1.1GB, and i already have most of that data on my DVD's. What about people with bad internet, metered access etc?
How hard would it be to make the downloadable patches work on the retail boxed versions? How hard would it be to have two patch versions available if it fixed the issue, one for the digital versions and one for the Boxed retail versions?
Customer satisfaction is a big thing really, and while i'm not that annoyed i had to download 1.1GB for a game i already have on DVD vs the 23MB patch that did not recognise my DVD installation, for some people that could be a show stopper and make them less happy about Stardock in general, and all rather unnecessarily so.
So this is just a kind suggestion to anyone from Stardock that might read it, please ensure your patches work on all versions of the game people have paid money for. Don't force them to download huge lumps of redundant data if it can be avoided. Really it is very little work to set up patches to work on different versions and having that total smooth customer end experience is well worth that small effort.
yours sincerely,
Zak

For anyone running into this problem, the only current solution is to re-download the whole game from your Stardock account after using the key that came with your Boxed game to register the game. Keep your Stardock account details to hand and that game key as you may have to re-enter that when you first relaunch the newly downloaded game (so you will need internet access for that step).
