Hoi chummers,

This is part plea for help and part rant. 

Short version, bought GalCiv2 Gold (with Dark Avatar) years ago. Tried it since I was a big MOO/MOM fan. But it didn't really flip my switch and I was easily lead astray by other games.

Now, many years later, I decided to try it again and am liking it. However, I am not liking the constant crash to desktops. So I went looking for a patch. 

Here is the rub. Per the www.galciv2.com download website, I have 3 options to get the patch. I can:

Log on to Stardock.com at my accounts access the patch and games. Nope. Go to my account and there is two links (with my product key below it) Dark Avatar and reg Gal Civ 2. Apparently they are electronic versions of my game to download. Don't need the game, need the patch. There is no other files there or anywhere I can access.

Option 2: Get an Impulse account. Problem is, Impulse was Gamestop and Gamestop threw in that towel. 

Option 3: Steam but only if you have a version of the game from Steam, nope mine is on disk (oh the horrors!).

So, where do I get the patch for GalCiv2: Gold + Dark Avatar?
