Hi all,

I know I'm late to the party, but just recently picked up SoaSE: Rebellion for the first time. Interesting game! Since there's a pretty robust modding community thought I'd ask for advice on the best game/mod experience for my purposes:

I'll be playing single-player only and would like a decent AI & strategic challenge. I'd also prefer to approach it from a classic 4X angle rather than RTS as much as possible - I enjoy taking my time creating an empire and letting the narrative unfold rather than the RTS-standard "build up as fast as possible and exterminate everyone".

Any advice on mods and/or settings that would emphasize that stuff? I've downloaded Sins of a Galactic Empire and the ST Armada 3: A Call To Arms - mostly because I enjoy those IPs rather than knowing anything about the strategy/mechanics changes they make. Started one vanilla game yesterday and despite muddling through the early stage due to not knowing all the mechanics, I was able to start significantly outproducing any of my opponents without much trouble - the vanilla AI doesn't seem to take much initiative. Are there any mods that make computer opponents a little more challenging?
