Yeah #5 bugs me a lot. But they don't want us to micro-manage the units. Sometimes you have to focus fire on a repair bay otherwise your whole army will be dead.

Re unit speed, that's more an issue of how far you've zoomed out I suspect. The units move very fast, but obviously if you are very zoomed out they will seem to move slow.
