
In recent patches the ship auto builder has been messed up. The medium/ large/ Massive hulls that are meant to be "Jack of all trades" doesnt work as it used to. The Defense shifts to 1 most powerful tech you have be it shields, point or armor. It used to spread evenly across all three or two as you unlocked techs. Now it chooses 1.
As this is hard coded in you can not change it. I really liked Gal civ 2 slider auto builder- worked as a charm. This system works too when it works but more love needs here as it is forgotten "in to fix list", Im sure there are ways to "smarten" this auto builder too after fixing it, like make the best attacker/ defender or support based on what techs you have unlocked etc.
Also the boost modules it only picks 1- to enhance shields, armor or point but not lasers, mass or missile nor fleet modules.
And for many patches now the hower on tooltip does not show immideatelly, you have to hover mouse over the ship names and wait until tooltip pops out.
I liked the auto builder, i can design each ship no problem but it takes a lot of time and currently auto builder does not support "AUTO UPGRADE" your custom/downlaoded ships- thats a real no no.
