Hey Guys it is my first post and I would like to congratulate you on Making Galactic Civ 3 ...
Age of Wonders 2 and Galactic civ 2 were my favourite games at all times , but Galactic civ always missed multyplayer mode and that was a massive
downside for me , well up to now...
Receantly my friends were getting fed up with multyplayer turn based games because it was taking ages to finish them and waiting for your turn was driving people insane...
But You have done in Galactic civ 3 something no one has done before , you have alowed players to do things in other players turn , Players could do anything except move ships and attack .... It was simply genious ...now we are not bored waiting for our turn , we can check our planets ,change what we reasurch or build... plenty of things to do...
and that feature alone was enough to make this game my favourite (Multyplayer) turn based game ever .
Now on the other hand I have to confest game has a great potential but we have not yet managed to finish a single game without game chrashing or getting stuck in some weird endless loop...
Some would say, well that makes a game unplayable ... well yes ... But I am aware this is a new game and still being fixed and developed.
also I have not played yet a single player game, I have only interest in multyplayer games and all problems and glitches I list will relate to the Multyplayer mode.
1. THIS ONE IS MAJOR ONE... When an AI civ surranders or get destroyed ... game either chrashes or get stuck on that civ turn...
we never managed to pass this ... it seems that games waits for destroyed AI to play even though they are not in the game anymore.
at this point sadly the only way to play Multyplayer games is not to use AI computer players.
2 .Now we can do lots of things in other players turn and that is Fantastic features that speed up the game, and we are no longer bored waiting for out turn...
but problem is ; If we are in any other screen except Map such as Tech screen we dont see it is our turn so we hold up the game ...
WE NEED A POP UP WINDOW to let us know its our turn .
3. When game crashes , on reload previously explored map dissapears. ( this might have been fixed in a new beta 1.02)
4.When game crashes , after re-load we get messages such as you built first capital ship ( even though it is not first).
5.When buildings are automatically upgraded it seems that upgrade shows twice for same building.
6. On re- load Economic options seem to get re-set .
7. Local network would be great and more stable to play on.
also open to friends only setup would be very helpful , it is uncomfortable and rude to kick out other people when they join your game ... with time and length it takes to finish/play this game... it is not practical to play it with the people you don't know, you just never know when are they going to be available to play with you again , because it clearly , Galactic civ can take days to finish a single game.
8. Game settings Issues
We like to play on a smaller map but with abundant settings for sun and planets , so game is shorter but should have enough planets to support the industry
and Ideology ... but it does not seem to be the case.
it seems that setting are not working , I sometimes explore up to 10 star systems with no a single habitable planet ( yet habitable planets are set on abundant), should not abundant settings force stars to have at least 1 planet . otherwise what is the point of the settings... we always seem to get same ratio no matter what setting we pick.
9. After player attacking another player's planet or a ship...
Game sometimes becomes irresponsive, both players get message waiting for a player... that is the point we have to quit game it becomes unplayable.
SUGGESTION
a. ( can we have in options when setting up the game, to set up an option to lower the amount of technologies needed to be reasurched in order to move onto a next Tech Age) or even remove this condition..
the reason behand is that sometimes we want to have a full fast game, and play it no more then 4 - 8 hours , but even with everything set to super fast
this condition contradict the setting and slows game down drastically by forcing you to reasurch almoust everything before being able to reasurch the last tech required for wining the game.
THUS it seems unlike in Sid mayers Civilisation where Military victory is the hardest, in Galactic Civ , it seem the only logical way to win ...
it takes way too long to get to the end of any other tech tree to win , while even the weakest ships at start of the game can conquer the planets and bring you a victory...
so everyone is forced to focus on military research...

Also I would like Military star- base to act like a turret and attack any enemies that come into its range ( those we are in war with) ...
that is the only issue I have with military stars ( behaving non -military) , watching enemy's fleet passing by my military starbase on its way to invade my home planet, yet my military star base will do nothing about it unless it is attacked itself... kind of silly.
