This is a small group of things I have noted and have not noted within the forums, although it still maybe there. As well as me being facetious.
Species interactions [Lore]
Upon having more than one of the same race in a game (Copy & Pasted), meeting the same race as you're playing as and not being to understand them. It seems odd that you can't understand your own species, the same applies when meeting minors, e.g. Dark Yor.
This of course can be explained as the individual empires having different dialects.
Another interaction regarding the Yor and other Synthetic lifeforms is that they will always, as far as I have pertained, regard you as 'Flesh' and 'Meat' even if you are yourself a superior synthetic lifeform.
And while we're on the Yor and race interactions I think that there should be more unique dialog between the Yor and Iconians, as well as the other races, but that's just me being facetious.
Anomalies [Bug(ish)]
To me this appears as a bug but may not be. With the anomaly events of 'One Wormhole to Many' and 'Cast the first Stone' both involve a Terran ship, (WH)"The unknown design of this survey ship is reminiscent of some Terran vessels." (CS) "The Terran gunboat drifting nearby", but the received ship is in the style of the race you're playing.
Is there a tag that would allow the style to be set for events and the like, or is it something not easily programmed? I see the Action and String Parameter in the XML:
<Action>AwardShipOfClass</Action>
<StringParam>ScoutBlueprint</StringParam>
So would it likely involve creating duplicates of the blueprints for each style? In which case I understand not doing it. Or Adding an additional String Parameter for style?
I also believe that there is an event involving a Precursor ship as well but can't currently remember or find it.
The Thalan [(Sudo)Lore/Game play]
On a more opinionated note regarding the Thalan, have they finally grasped how a bunch of individuals can simply come up with new ideas, as they start of with research labs, or are they still using Technology Matrices. I always like how in GalCiv II they started off with basically nothing and that their improvements and ships cost more in maintenance and production but were more powerful, not necessarily the most powerful per cost but had a quantitative advantage.
I do understand that giving each race roughly the same starting situations is for balance reasons, as it quicker and easier, and that this may change in later expansions .
Some ideas I have are incorporating the Hyperion Matrix into the Empires Capital as it was what they came with, I recall in a Dev stream the idea of upgradeable Colony Capitals so could tie into that, I also know that the capital placement is random and that that's not going to change, so it's unlikely. (P.S I liked the old art better, but that's just personal preference)
Another is going back to a similar format in GalCiv II where you only started out with three improvements, however as GalCiv III is ~20 Years later it's understandable that they have some basic improvements. But this may just be me being nostalgic. On another nostalgic note I did like the Hyperion Starbases Tech.
I know that there are 5-7 Years of expansions so this may all change, and if I really want it changed after that I'll do it myself. Although I may have forgotten by then.
On a more personal note have the Thalan, over the 20 or so Years they the have been in the Galaxy, been influenced by the Precursors to become Bipedal humanoids or was it peer-pressure from all the other humanoids(Precursoroids). I always had a much different picture of them, having "multiple appendages". Or is it a case of the Thalan having morphological distinct castes breed for particular purposes i.e. for this case Diplomacy where being humanoids/Precursoroids is more favorable. {That's my head cannon}.
Or are the other appendages simply hidden against their body. {My Meh canon}
{I may have thing for the Thalan}
Just my two cents
