AI Gifting Specialization Techs

I've had the Iconians do this to me several times now (one reason why my auto-save is every other turn, so I can reload prior to such things): they gift me a specialized tech - which, while nice of them, is *not* one that I wanted & now I'm stuck with it. Can there be an option to refuse the gift or some other mechanism to deal with this? I'm "fine" with the lock-in on specializations (I'd prefer them to be gone, but get it from a balance-perspective & makes me consider my choices carefully.)

On a serious note, you can trade other AIs for the other techs so don't sweat it that much.

Hey you don't know that guy might be a great tech --- you can't tell a nerd by his coat!  And hey, I play the Iconians a lot and I would never trade/gift crappy stuff to another faction!   I have principles!   Well, sometimes, maybe, a little.

quicksave before pressing turn might save you some time here, yeah I know it's cheesy but we all forget some stuff here and there. (actually the ability to reload is a only-player bonus and that's why I'm universally fine with (hidden) AI bonuses most call "cheating")


which, while nice of them, is *not* one that I wanted & now I'm stuck with it.

honestly, I love such moments. the most boring game is the game that simply goes according to my plan. improvise and make the best out of it.

Nevertheless, I agree, gifts should made refuseable.
