Parasite race

I was thinking we should get a parasite race in the game. The goa'uld from Stargate are a great example what I'm talking about Wikipedia link .

Or even the parasytes from anime Kiseijuu: Sei no Kakuritsu. Aliens that invade planets in small pods and take over alien race hosts as little worms.

I'd love to see this as a DLC race or maybe someone is interested in creating a custom race before that even.

Working out the racial traits is easy but I'm not good at typing background stories or descriptions

Art is easy. Just throw money at deviantart artist to make it lol

Anyways any thoughts on the matter, suggestions, stuff...etc?

the real trick with a parasitic race would be the change in game mechanics to go along with it

i mean you would probably want a race that has very little base production capacity (almost none) but once it interacts with a race would be able to start subverting its population to do that races bidding

also how would it succeed in an invasion i would almost thing it would try to invade a few hosts and use those to invade more hosts etc etc this is almost a stealth type invasion
would the original owner know its going on?
would the planet still appear to be under their control?
would the planet at some point just convert to yours like a culture flip?
if so how would culture flips work against an infected planet?

is there a way to immunize against the parasitic race?

BTW i like the idea of a parasitic race and want to see it succeed

would be insanely interesting to see turn up even as a big bad for the games lore and story to use, though might be far down the line due to how it would need a lot of change and unique mechanics.

Also to the invasions part I would envision it starts off as a stealth invasion for 1-2 turns of it before the literal invasion or even a parasite induced rebellion becomes a more open invasion thus informing the player owner of said invaded world.
