Beta 6: still crashing/freezing in battle screens

So I am way in..turn 384 with an immense universe and all the races. And......I am stuck

 

It's not a complete crash, so I cannot send in any bug reports, but the game freezes when battle and planetary invasion screens should be displayed (I can still hear the sound effects).And the only option is to kill it in the task manager (memory usage about 3800 Mb of my 8 Gb machine) and hope that it will get better after a reboot and reload

Also I noticed turns are becoming considerably slower when I get into this phase of the game.

 

Besides that......sigh..I'm really loving a lot of the things in. At first I cursed at the excluding tech tree, but it does improve the need for diplomacy. Also the AI has by far improved, although I still had some stupid Altarian Colony Ships which colonised planets deep into my influenced sphere (which turned and revolted in about 10-12 turns) and is far more agressive.

Several of us ran into that in Beta 5, I was hoping it was fixed in 6.  I'd encourage you to open a support ticket to make sure the developers know it's still there.

It seemed to me that it happened after some number of battle viewer and/or invasion screens, like each was leaking memory or some other resource.

I noticed that too in beta 5, I could only manually see one battle per turn; if I tried to have a second view it would freeze/ not show . But this time I also saw it with a half drawn invasion screen. Will see if I can get a support ticket in.

Its part of the way fixed, but its still bugged its really frustrating. I've played the game for 35 hours and i've still yet to finish a game properly due to this game breaking bug.
