Mini map always resetting to default: bug or working as designed?

I find it extremely annoying.  I like my mini map to be unzoomed, to see as much as I can, and only on occasion zoom back to some part of the space.  But now, it resets itself after every turn, and even when I click on "idle ship".

It disapeared with some of the hotfixes, than it came back with the latest ones. It is extremely annoying.  Am I really the only one with this bug??

No...it is indeed extremely annoying.

Also...I can't find a way to center my minimap on a spot of my own choice. Is that impossible?

The entire minimap functionality as it is right now is extremely disappointing:

 

* I would like to make the minimap bigger if I choose to do so

* I would like to be able to center the minimap to where my current screen is

 

Please fix ))))

I can confirm that patch 1.0 has done nothing for the minimap.

I still resets itself every turn, or on clicking Idle Ship.

 

Also: Am I alone in wishing for hotkeys to center minimap to current map position? Or possibly an option to alter the size of the minimap?

I am seeing this too and it is very inconvenient.

Asmodean, if you haven't discovered it yet, you can center your minimap by pressing and holding your mouse scroll wheel then moving the map to where you want it.

I agree that a hot key for this would be very nice, along with the many hot keys that were in GC2 and are not in GC3.

Ok...I did not actually know that repositioning the map with the middle mouse button also recentered the minimap. 

 

Will have to try that

And patch 1.01 didn't fix the minimap either. It still resets each and every turn.

Come on Stardock....get your s**t together, ok?

they are aware of the problem, but it does not seem to be a priority issue.

Maybe someone needs to re-prioritize. It makes playing on larger map sizes a nightmare.

keep in mind that is only my opinion.  It may be that they can not reproduce on their end, or that they can't find the cause.
