I played many hours in GalCiv3 and I like in this game almost everithing, but... ideologyes sucks almost completely. I think, that all thre ideology brances must be extended with bigger amount of avaliable achievements (recently added 20 achievements per ideology can be gained by player in very short time), and each ideology should block access to both other ether entirely or partically, because now every race can gain full access to all three ideologyes,that looks illogical.
My thoughts about such system are:
Malevolent race (enough only one achievement in ideology) have no access to benevolent ideology, and can gain acces to vigilant and first three achievements of Traders branches of Pragmatic ideology.
Pragmatic race have access to benevolent and malevolent achievements, but not full. Only Affinity and Enlightement from benevolent, and Motivation and Awe from malevolent
Benevolent race have no access to benevolent ideology, and can achieve Builder and Negotiator branches from pragmatic.
I think such ideology system can make ideologyes more important element of game and choice of race ideology will become grate element of game grand strategy.
