This is a petty issue, the background stars are very distracting on a busy map. When playing on larger maps, you have a bit of information overload and its one more thing you have to mentally filter. It would be nice when you're in the polishing phase to make them less pronounced.
I love the game and my wife has informed me that I've wasted too many hours playing
