The devs talked a lot about how the map generator can be used to address a lot of the problems that people have recently raised. This was mostly in regards to slower colonization and better defensive rewards, but it got me thinking.... why can't it be used for better planet generation as well?
Would it be possible to include an option for minimum planet level or more tiles for planets in the galaxy generator? I imagine a slider with normal planet bonuses and normal planet tiles on one side, and +5 tiles and no benefits on the other. I would love to play with something like this to see how the games turn out.
Another feature I would like to see is the ability to limit the maximum number of teraformed tiles (per planet) as a game option. This might sound silly, but while I like the idea of a few more tiles to start with, I don't like the idea of late-game planets being improved to extremes. This isn't as important IMO, but would also be neat.
These settings combined with what's already available would allow almost complete control over map generation and planet sizes/development. Just a thought.
