I'm probably asking against the trend with all the talk about 32 bit being dropped in favor of 64 bit which allows for gargantuan games with hundreds of races that take weeks or even months to finish. Unfortunately I don't have that time (and patience) and would prefer smaller and faster games. A good comparison would be CivIV FFH2 with quick tech on a small map. I can usually finish that in a one day single player or LAN session in about 150 - 200 turns. I can't research everything in that time (not even close) which is perfectly fine for me since it increases replayability.
Will GalCiv III offer similar game speed options or is it pretty much "don't even start a game if you're not willing to spend at least a week on it"? I think GalCiv II had a rather slow pacing, at least after the second expansion, although that might have been just my impression. Just curious what GalCiv III will have to offer in smaller games since its design focus seems to be more on extra large games that take a very long time to finish.
