Hello
Maybe this has been talked about before. I didn't see any resent discussion.
I have given some thoughts into the information-window on the main screen. The one below the minimap. I don't now really, I think that the information provided there is not information that I use on a turn to turn basis and it therefore is just cluttering up the main screen. The information is either to scarce to be useful och simply not something that I need to know all the time.
For example:
- Planetary income: Maybe useful when one doesn't have that many planets. But once the I pass like 10 planets it really doesn't provide any overview. So if my empire has economic problems I would much rather use an economic window (which I assume will be introduced in later betas) which will provide more structured and detailed information.
- Planetary approval. Same as for economic. Don't need to see it every turn, and if I need to see it I need more structured and detailed information.
- Once I pass a certain number of planets I don't even use it to navigate since I now a planets by its location (and I hence use the minimap) rather than its name.
To sum it all up: I think that information-window clutters the main screen and it doesn't provide information in a way that motivates it to have it there all the time.
What do you think?
Sincerely
Nemo
