Agree with most of your points...
Point 1: Though I do like the planet screen alot, upon going back and looking there does seem like there is wasted space above and below the planet 'window'. It seems to me that this space could be used for more information and/or functions. I do love the planet on the left however and I hope at some point it will show ships in orbit in addition to the occasional orbiting moons we already see. As for the civ information (income/growth/approval/turn) - I never realized it was absent from the planet view... but now that I do notice - I feel it should be somewhere. It would be helpful.
Point 2: As far as accidentally exiting the screen - this has not happened to me.
Point 3: Selecting initial colony location - PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE give this to us!!! It is a must have and would be awesome! Even if there are limitations in where we can start (like it has to be on a prairie tile), at least we can strategize our initial planning.
Point 4: I have mentioned this in past posts... It is not clear. There are little icons when you go to the main civilization settings but not on the individual planets. It would be helpful if icons were added to the planet screen as well.
Point 5: I have seen some cut off text as well on some tiles as well - though to be honest I have been looking mainly at the modifiers and icon tooltips to help me.

I do have some more points to add from me:
Point 6: Please bring back the little arrows between planet tiles. They were so incredibly helpful. There has been no talk about them from the designers since the beta launch. I have been hoping they would answer a question regarding them in a stream but none have arisen. We need them back.
Point 7: At least on my computer there is a discrepancy in planet color between the actual planet sphere and the 'flattened' map we place improvements on. The spheres are alien and vibrant - but the flattened map is more drab and ordinary. Some planets are more drastic than others. Also, what about a moving cloud layer for the flattened map? I know in some notes it said the planets were final. This is why I ask about clouds.

Point 8: I am assuming the other, 'original' generic tile icons (from alpha and galciv2) are eventually coming back to join the ones we have? If so, they will be welcomed with open arms.
Point 9: I love the dynamically sized hexagon icon sets on the bottom for production, research and wealth - how about more icons for food, influence, tourism, military and population?
Point 10: STARPORT/SHIPYARD representation in the planet's screen showing if the planet is the main host or a secondary sponsor of a shipyard and how much resources are sending to it each turn. Also the ability to enter the shipyard from the planet would be helpful and a quick visual indication of what the shipyard is building as well (like in galciv2).
All in all good points by original poster and the game is moving along wonderfully!
