Just tested some of the super project and wonder, below are some of the feedback on them:
1. Indicator
Super project and wonder was not properly marked as so. There is no indicator to show that such and such building is a super project or wonder. Now, the only way to know if a building is a super project and wonder is to recognize and remember it or read the description. The former is not reliable (human memory is fragile) while the latter is inconsistent. So, you may miss it (somebody grab it first for wonder) and delay in researching/building it.
- Use a different small icon for wonder and super structure in tech tree instead of a generic building
- Add a visual to differentiate them in the building list in the planetary screen (i.e. a golden ring, etc)
- Add a super project/wonder filter tab on the building list
2. Description
The description for Singularity Power Plant is "Give a Production bonus for all planets in your civilization".
The description for Galactic Stock Exchange is "Increases the gross income of all our world".
The description for Omega Research Center is "Makes laboratories more efficient and boost research".
The description for Galactic showcase is "increase a world gross income."
They all gives global bonus so the first two is at least informative enough to show that it is either a super project and wonder. But the third one is very ambiguous while the last is obviously wrong.
- Give them another pass and streamline them
3. Prerequisite
The building prerequisite is pretty inconsistent at the moment. Singularity Power Plant (Wonder) and Galactic Stock Exchange (Super Project) can be built in one go, but Omega Research Center (Wonder) needs to be upgraded from Co-ordination Center -> Innovation Complex -> Omega Research Center. Of all, the multiple upgrading requirements is the troublesome one since there is no method to show how to get it, and the wonder is hidden in the building list until the planet have the prerequisite building. We are more likely to forgotten when it is hidden.
- Show the upgrade path from mouseover the super project and wonder in the tech tree if any (it this is done, might as well make it available to other normal buildings with prerequisite as well)
- Show the wonder with prerequisite building in the building list but blocked it from being built until the prerequisite building is built on the planet. (Make sure the upgrade path was clearly shown on mouseover)
- Or to keep it simple, just banned super project and wonder from using prerequisite building. Make all of them can be built in one go.
4. Adjacency Bonus
Since some of the super project and wonder gives global bonuses, the level up bonus from adjacency building need to be lowered. Some of them are too strong at the moment. For example:
- Level 6 Galactic Stock Exchange gives 25% (base) + 30% (lvl up from adjacency bonus) global income throughout the galaxy. That is a global income bonus of +55% for all planets.
- A level 11 Singularity Power Plant give a global bonus of 25% (base) + 55% (lvl up). So, the global production bonus is +80% for all planets (note: there is a bug here, it's just 55% global bonus in patch 0.412)
- A level 6 Galactic showcase gives a global bonus of 25% wealth (base) and 25% influence (base) + 30% wealth (lvl up) and 30% influence (lvl up). So, that is a global wealth/influence bonus of +55%/+55% for all planets.
- A level 7 Omega Research Center gives 25% (base) + 7% (lvl up). So, the global research bonus is 32%.
From the above, the +5% per level up is too strong for a global bonus. +1% per level like the Omega Research Center is good enough.
5. Prompt
Prompt when somebody built a super project or wonder. It adds a race factor in the game and remind us that the galaxy is alive.
6. Bugs
The Singularity Power Plant is supposed to give 25% base global bonus and +5% per level up. But the 25% base global bonus does not takes effect. So, a level 11 Singularity Power Plant gives just +55% global bonus from level up.
Super project and wonder can be destroyed. Super project can be rebuilt after destroyed but wonder cannot. Please block them from being destructible
Using the bug above, if I invaded another player's planet and there is an additional Hyperion Shrinker there, I can razed it and rebuilt it at another of my planet. I built it on a planet with a Hyperion Shrinker already built. So there is two Hyperion Shrinker in that planet. It's not really abuse-able but at least it makes it easier to get adjacency bonus. It works on Hyperion Logistics too. Too bad it didn't works on Manufacturing capital. Else, it would be fun.
7. Others
The Singularity Power Plant also gives +200% production bonus for the host planet. That is a duplicate bonus of a manufacturing capital and is unnecessary. The global production bonus is strong enough that adding a +200% production bonus is overkill.
Please increase the cost of wonder. None of them even reaches 1k cost (400~600 cost). That is too cheap for a super project and wonder. I have at least a dozen of planets that can output that amount in every game. So, it takes just 2~3 turns max to build them in my best planets.
