I am working on building a build list on the planet. I create a long list of improvements, more than the displayed length. I need to change something that is now at the very end. The wheel scroll on the list is very slow. It feels like a scaling number set low somewhere. If I pick up an improvement to move it further up the list, I cannot get the list to scroll up to the front again. I need an up/down edge scroll on build lists.
I went to add weapons to my animated "Orbiter" ship. (See post in ship show off thread) I got this display of hardpoints suspended in space. Playing with this a bit reveals it shows the positions of the hardpoints at the moment I select a weapons part to add. If I am quick about it, I can get the hardpoints to sort of map out the original disk shape of the ship. Then the parts all keep rotating and the hardpoints stay still. I think I need to be able to temporarily disable all animations during a weapons equip action. Actually, it would be extremely useful in the Design phase as well. "Hold still for a moment, darn you!"
I am not sure what saving my ship design as a template gets me, or is supposed to get me in a future build. I was hoping it would do automatic ship design like "Orbiter Mark 1, Orbiter Mark 2, Orbiter Marl etcetera". As I type I think it may have to do with the ship "Orbiter" being based on a Cargo starter. But then again, it is allowing me to arm a supposed cargo hull. How should this actually work? Or does it yet?
Had my first crash. I still think that is impressive. I have no idea what I was doing to trigger. I had a bunch of ships on auto-explore just to be moving around. I was working through the tech tree. I was doing very slow expansion and had not yet met my opponent.
I repeated the crash. I have an autosave. After the save, and the following turn, I let the ship in transit colonize and put several buildings in the planet queue ending with a starport to construct eventually. Then, when I do next turn, it crashes to desktop. I submitted all this to Support.
