Just wanted to post my own impressions and overview of my time with the alpha so far. I am sure some (many?) of these will have already been discussed by others and may not even be relevant to current development but still...
Issues
-- If I rush a project and then proceed to cancel it in the same turn I lose all the money used to rush AND I am unable to rush a new project that turn...no idea if this is intentional behavior or not.
-- Fast zooming in and out of the map causes the fog of war to glitch
-- Tooltips often feel unresponsive, sometimes when mousing over ships or planets no tooltip shows up, it can be noticeably delayed or the wrong one shows (often what has been moused over before that point).
Example...

-- I seem to suffer quite a performance hit when using ambient occlusion. Not too much of an issue as I don't think it changes the look of the game much and I know my AMD 6870 isn't exactly cutting edge but I was just surprised at it literally halving my framerate.
Suggestions
-- I like the movement lines and the turn number indicated on them but think some sort of movement indication on the map showing how far a given unit can move in any given turn would be nice. At the very least I would like some sort of segmented or clock like version of the blue UI icon when you click on a unit that shows how many movement points a unit has to spend rather than having to look at the info pannel.
-- I do not particularly like the cancel improvement icon on the terrain menu being a toggle between different functions, it sounds like this whole screen is getting reworked somewhat though but it should probably be its own function button or an option when you click on a queued improvement.
Honestly...I am surprised how few issues I have, certainly feels like the most polished version out of any of the early release Stardock games I have played, simply can't wait for the currently locked features to be let loose. Many thanks
