These are just a few first impressions and suggestions after a few hours playing. I have not been looking for bugs/technical problems so far but i will in the future.
- Posibility to rearrange the UI or "undock" the toolbars of the UI (eg. pulling the minimap to the left) - like moving the taskbar in WINDOWS
- The Manufact. Adjustment should be additionally possible by typing values into a box. And showing the icons of science/production/wealth next to the % would be helpful when using the curser/indicator. I really like that "sphere" but it is a bit confusing.
- I do like the little messages on the turn button! why not combine these with a alarmclock/note feature where you set turn, actions, messages and after x turns or at time y the turn button show: NOTE and a written note pops up: 6pm! Don´t forget to order your pizza... and to attack the drengin...
- I like to very close zoom very much, but i think the scroll speed then is to high.
- Undiscovered stars should not be visible when zooming far out
- The ships are to cheap to buy...
Ideas for features:
- Speaking of stars: Flares (as event and visual effect) would be nice and they should have an effect on the planets of the system (eg. big flares hitting planet = factories go down for some time, ship cannot move... but a tech can provide protection to planet/ships)
- Stars could have different characteristics indicated by their color: cooler, hotter, older, bigger, smaller, different grav. fields, red giant (giving bonuses, but might explode...) etc. - this should effect the planets of a system (eg cooler planet - lower agriculture, brighter star gives bonuses using solar power plants ...). later techs might be able to change these attributes... with the risk of blowing the star up (destryoing the whole systen AND effecting neighboring systems).
- Techs for probes to inspect planets before colonizing them - they can find ressources to give bonuses to the planet - the better the probe technology the higher the bonuses but with the risk to discover something negative.
- Dustclouds/Nebulas/Asteroids: It´d be nice if the clouds would slowly drift through the galaxy, breaking up, forming new bigger clouds etc. And I could think of a tech (like a tractor beam) to move asteroids between systems...
Finally i have to say: the graphics are very very nice! i like the background stars / nebulas...
