I appear not to be the only one!

Are you forcing the Nvidia card vai the Nvidia Control Panel?
No, how do I do that?
Same issue, turning off GelUI, Enable Bloom, and Ambient Occlusion options in the Graphics settings removes the white boxes, but leaves no background or other objects aside from the tooltips and side menu. This is with my graphics card off, using only the integrated graphics. Turning on the card results in immediate crash after the intro movie.
Switched on my graphics card, game loaded and did not crash - however it moved most of the text off-screen.
Same issue as OP: different graphics setup.

I should probably add that despite what steam says, I have dual video cards. Running 12.4 drivers.
Same problem, Intel HD Graphics
Did you do anything special to get it to not crash?
hmm image wont appear, how exactly do I insert image
Same issue here, on all screens, including main menu.
Specs:
Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit
Intel i7-2670QM @ 2.20 Ghz
Radeon HD 7970m, driver ver. 13.251.0.0
Nope
Sent an email as instructed by steam forum, have a weird screenshot which steam wont upload that might help included
bump
Hey all I had the same trouble I updated my video card drivers set res at 1280 X 768 and have full screen check!! my res on desktop is 1366 x 768 it put the text where it was suppose to be then! my video card is a GF 8500GT. hope this helps!!
I believe one of the things they said was to leave the resolution on the game's default for now.
text was all screw up for me I had to find one that would work,.... that was why I gave my card and settings. default did not work for me.
Will give it a go!
nothing
On a completely unrelated bug, I can no longer run GC3 (crashing on note from devs) so am unable to change the resolution
Welcome to my world. Hopefully our stay won't be long.
Odd, using xfired 7950's with latest driver (non-beta), had no problem starting first time. Took my screen res, 2560x1440 right off the bat, no fiddling. Turned off bloom, didn't like the effect from any other game.
Oh, win 8.1 64 bit here.
pek
No font issues you should reboot your computer, as this was the same problem as in GalCiv2
@windscion2 your drivers seem really out of date...
