This is my second go at this thread. Internet is intermittent, beeon off and on since before we lost power. Power was out for 21 hours, 8 last night untill 5 this afternoon. I saw several reports on yahoo news. Southern part of Queens NY got hammered as did Atlantic City, Manhattan, Staten Island. There was a video showing water gushing out of an elevator shaft at a subway station.

There are some pics at the link. Notice the yard full of yellow cabs, all practically submerged. There were pics pf a flooded Queens neighborhood where a six-alarm fire destroyed between 80 to 100 homes. Like one big war zone.
Where I'm at in West Chester we got lucky. I think Sandy side-swiped us. Some rain and wind but not a lot plus a gust or two. Most of the damage occurred Northeast of us. The bride I gave away.........she and her husband rode out the storm with me. It started out as a birthday dinner, two racks of ribs! from the local food cupboard, for a friend that turned into a 'hurry up and wait to see what Sandy does' type thing. They'll be leaving tomorrow. Oh.....and I lost none of the food in my fridge or freezer, I only had to toss the dairy products All in all......we made it. Hope everyone else did.
