YOU'RE RIGHT! We need to start trolling over this 1.8 patch NOW!!! It messed up everything! All my saved games and custom units. I thought it was going to be an update, but its just a giant reset button!
Man, patch 1.80 took SOOO long to come out. I mean years! Heck, I think galactic civilizations is still only on like 1.5! After all the patch 1.0x series, then the 1.1x, 1.2x (we had 1.21 for the longest time) where were all great patches. Years later, finally after a few expansions, we worked our way up to 1.6x... and then 1.7 which didn't really last that long, the 1.8 patch is finally out!
and now all my mod work doesn't work!!!! I perfectly recreated Master of Magic. My saved Custom AI scripts to for AI to understand the global spells no longer works. My saved sovereign characters for each of the original Master of Magic character choices no longer work. My races representing each of the old races randomly have forgotten half of their traits, possibly because all my custom traits no longer work. I have to recreate every single custom unit. (in fact, the update to 1.80 somehow deleted my saved models, textures, and animation/particle scripts I used to create all the custom units, buildings, clothes, and spells! Even though I had them saved to a completely different folder and backed up on a home server separate from my PC!)
