Interviews are not in multiplayer, only when you play against the AI. So that is probably the issue.
To play against the AI, create a match, choose your world settings and character, and then on the next screen you can either wait for someone to join or you can check the box for "Play against AI". Check that box and start the match. It should have interviews in it.
