Last night I updated to the latest version of Impulse, then used that to update SoaSE to the latest version. When I was finished, I exited out of Impulse and left to make a phone call. I came back two hours later to find that the CPUs were both running at about 2.5 times the normal idling temperature. Since there were no open applications to kill, I brought up task manager and checked the running processes, and there I saw 'Impulse.exe' was still running, consuming almost 100% of the CPU. I killed the 'Impulse.exe' process, and the cpu temperature immediately dropped back to normal levels. So now I'm going to have to check each time I use Impulse to verify it terminated correctly. And here I was thinking that Stardock Central was the most abysmal software I'd ever loaded on my computer.
