I like to think mine are unforgettable but, in a crowd I could become anonymous. It's all part of keeping us humble maybe?

Who am I trying to kid? Of course they're unforgettable. They're mine.

Tis the season again. 

But,,, I am moving to the city in 2 weeks. I will be managing a 44 apartment, 3 storey. Yahoo!!! Needless to say I cannot wait. No planting of such an animal this spring. Can't wait to have no time again. I really miss that. Hard wood floors throughout. Beauty. An older building but, kept up. Lots of wood. I'm so happy.  There is a flood coming this way. We are avoiding it this way to. We might lose our house. That or mud,mud,mud. 

Know what I mean? Just glad I'm not in BC to receive that radiation rain. OMG

[It would be a much better back yard if there weren't a million bull ants ..... they hurt like buggery when they bite, which would frequently if I stood still for 5 seconds.  There's no stopping for a break when I mow.... well not 'til I get back inside.  I've been trying to poison them with an insecticide sand they take into their nests, but they always seem to find a new queen and move just a few feet away.  I suppose if I persist I'll eventually get rid of them.]

Especially if they bite somewhere tender.  It'd bad enough getting bitten on the feet while mowing, etc, but one time I was bitten much farther up and... let's just sat it brought a tear to the eye.

Yup, they'd have to be the worst garden pest know to man... while others may eat the plants, bull ants try to eat you, and it hurts quite a bit just to be bitten once.  Imagine a few or several bites.  That's why the mowing is done in record time... no stopping long enough for them to latch on and bite., though I still get the occasional one now and then. 

There certainly is less of them than when we moved here, so I may just be beginning to win the war with this 'ant sand' that gets taken to the nest and kills many of them off.  I'll still try the baby powder, though, it might just be the edge I need to finally be rid of them.

So long as I bring the picnic and a bottle of wine, right?

My accent isn't full Aussie... it's mostly Devonshire with an Aussie twang these days.... as I came from Devon, England originally.  I've lived in Australia 42 years, hence the Aussie twang to go with it. 

Think Hagrid from Harry Potter with an  "Gidday" and you're close.
