Hello everyone,
European player, bought the game from the website a few days ago and love it. Haven't played the European scenario yet. but I checked out the map - the country names and issues are absolutely hilarious! Must go to Atlantis one of these days! Anyway, I've been focusing on the campaign mode, and after saving and resuming my game the following day, I noticed that some of my ads were missing. At first, I wrote it off as absent mindedness ("I'm sure I put a TV ad favouring economical wealth in Ohio, but I guess not") until I went back to an earlier save and saw that it was there. Since I definitely didn't, the game must've removed my ad somehow. Once I'd noticed it happening, I tried placing a TV ad. It deducted my money, but it didn't show up on the state map, nor under the assets tab. So...
Is this a bug or is there some limit to the number of advertisements you can have in a single game? I advertise quite a bit and sometimes have both newspaper ads and radio/tv ads running in the same state if I can afford it.
Does it perhaps have anything to do with how funds are deducted? If I'm low on cash, does the game deduct spending before it adds funds for a new round? Let's say that I have $15.000 left in a turn. My expenses are $27.000, but my income is $130.000. If expenses are calculated before income in the overall balance, that would put me under the limit and maybe the game sees fit to cut some of my more expensive ads then? In such case, shouldn't it tell me about it somehow? What does happen exactly if you end up having more running expenses than income for a given turn?
I hope someone will be able to answer all of these questions,
Sincerely,
John Christensen
