[Proposition/Request] Real time clock

Hi. I'm sorry if i'm not in a correct place to post it, but i found no "suggestion" place. I searched at first, but have found only a post in suggestions for 1.03 patch, so i'll propose here directly.

I don't really know for other players, but i would really have a use for a real-time clock in game, just small, in corner, a bit like in civilization 4. Just a small real-time clock, which could be de/activated in options, so we could keep track of real time, once in game

Practical example, i play at morning before going to work, and if i had clock in game, i wouldn't be late (ok, maybe less late, simply, but anyway, you got my point

)

Actually that wont do.

What we need is an in-game clock so that one can work out how much "in-game" time has gone by. Its Because of things like Lag ,slow-down and even pausing that in-game time doesnt sync with real life clocks and stuff.

Interesting thought.

However, it would seem that in the spirit of all the various management goals that need to be watched during the game, "Time Management" would be just an added factor. If you need to watch the time, a $5.00 cheapie stick on clock placed on or near your monitor would seem to work well.

And also, wouldn't an in-game clock be subject to all the random factors like lag, slow down, and pausing? Especially because your in-game clock would need to be on the client side of the game, and would reflect those same issues.

Seems to me that having the el-cheapo clock is much more efficient than introducing another factor for lag into the game.

Just my $.05 worth.... inflation ya know.

I gotta agree with the op a real time clock that you can toggle the display on/off would help alot especially to determine times for build orders and the like, theres too much interferance with pausing and lag. Plus the game runs on a real-time clock there's really no reason at all why this cant be displayed, obviously the game is already tracking time to determine the graphs in the aftermath screens.

I was only proposing it like this, because i thought it could be useful, and moreover, it adds a value of "our game is so intense and huge that we put you a clock to remind you of the real world".
And i thought it would be finally quite fast to add, just adding to the display, in an area unused.

And for the interesting answers, yeah, i know, i can put a real clock or check a watch, thanks for the idea, i would never have thought about it :]

Sorry for double post, i can't find the "edit" button

For reminders, in Civilization 4, clock is switching between two modes, once the real time, once the game time (we could imagine putting a galactical calendar/year, eventually, you know, to have an idea of time passing).

I know, it's a strategy game, not a civilization, but it has the size of a civilization, so i thought it would apply for such kind of features.

But after all, you're the bosses, i'm only putting my small idea, do whatever you want with it, and i'll buy a clock/wear a watch/play in window/quit my job

An in-game clock gets my vote. Too bad this isn't a democracy. I think that with a few exceptions, all video games should have access to an optional clock.
