Perhaps the storyline was a little bit meh... (The admiral didn't grasp the simple thermodynamic principles that made it abundantly clear that throwing a nuke at the aliens was a really bad idea?! I mean, seriously, did anyone not see what was coming when they launched that nuke?) The gameplay was quite interesting.

Did you even play Crysis? I'm sure your experience with shooters is limited to the corridor-crawling of Gears of War and Halo, but they've never had a game like Crysis. Go ahead and drop a name if you can.

No, it was just the first one to come to mind. Try defending WoW plus most of your list. Last I checked, everything but Halo 3 is PC as well, and maybe Timeshift, Kane and Lynch, and Madden (not too sure on those). I used Crysis because it was PC only, so you couldn't very well claim it was dumbed down for the console.
Oblivion and CoD2 were definitely very good games, and Oblivion is more of a PC game than console, so what is it doing on that list.

And what about the fact that the Kotor, Kotor II, and Morrowind are commonly agreed to be some of the best original Xbox games ever - and they sold well on the PC, too. If console gamers were as dumb as you're trying to claim, they wouldn't have been so discerning.

Heck Halo would have been 10x better if it had been strictly developed for the PC - but Microsoft bought it, dumbed it down and made if for the Xbox and it is a SHADOW of what it could have been.

I still remember seeing screenshots of it before it was bought out by Microsoft, truly was going to be a thing to behold on the PC. Then the Xbox took it and ruined it.

And graphics aren't the only thing that suffer on a console, processing power to do AI routines etc.. are vastly limited on a console. Take this game for instance, it would never run on a console - not enough horsepower - controls aside.

I'll admit that the community for a game like this is probably much better than the average console community. It's also better than the average PC community. Console FPS communities and PC FPS communities are probably exactly the same (meaning the type of gamer you'd find in them). The average PC community and the average console community are roughly equivalent, so its really the fact that good strategy games are hard do to within the console's limitations that are holding it back.

There's no such thing as a console community. Everything that makes a community is PC-centric.

No need to flame people that play consoles. Yes, a lot of REALLY TERRIBLE games sell millions for them, but that's because, for the most part, the audience is fresh to videogames - I know a lot of people whose first FPS was Halo on the original Xbox. These guys don't have a history to look back on and say 'remember the days when games didn't suck?'. They'll get there in time. Soon after that they'll realize that PC games are fuller and stronger because of the nature of the platform.

If people want to play consoles, perhaps you could INFORM them that really good games exist on PC and even the ones that are also on consoles are more fleshed out, have more content, look way better with the right hardware, play easier, and have better interfaces. But I guess that isn't as fun as flaming them outright and questioning their worth as human beings.

By the way, Crysis is the last example I'd pick of a PC's superiority over consoles. I mean the game has fucking JASON STATHAM as an NPC in it. Seriously. Sure the graphics are great, but it looks like they don't scale properly, and only a small percentage of Colombian druglords can play it at max. I liked Far Cry WAAAAAAAY better as a single player game. Hopefully Far Cry 2 isn't too consolified for my tastes. Crysis has the worst AI I've ever seen in any game... EVER! Terrible game choice.

Crysis is more like the PCs Lair, imo. (Yes, I went there.) Graphics don't count much for game quality. Good graphics help a game along, but art direction is more important than raw graphical power for looks. Though I guess shitting bloom all over the screen helps tidy some things up. To be honest, I preferred almost every 'linear' game to Crysis' very mediocre open gameplay.

The main advantage of the PC is its interface. The interface allows players to have more game types and modes with more complex controls. Perfect example would be think of Starcraft on PC vs. N64. Even a noob could beat Boxer if he was PC and Boxer was N64. The interface allows us to go places that other interfaces just can't go. We can't copy the Wii entirely (yet), though.

The next advantage after that is, for lack of a better term, the unmitigated unchanneled power of the internet. It's hard to have a modding community, for example, for a console game because of the nature of consoles. Even console games have to be developed on PCs because it's just easier.

Somehow I doubt there are many 1600x1200 or comparable wide screen resolution tv's hooked up to console with keyboards and mice out there that would make what I can do on the internet comparable to what someone with an xbox is doing on the internet...

It's the rock solid picture, crystal clear clarity, ample real estate, and excellent functionality of a good pc system that lets me waste time reading text without going blind or crazy.

Where consoles excel? Four geeks playing a game and bullshitting each other in person. Smash brothers just would not have been the same on the pc with your opponent in another state as you chewed him up and spit him off the edge with the unholy might of kirby, the pink... thing.

One can say that the ffstation(er playstation) is good for playing rpgs, but one could also say that the rpgs are an utter piece of shit, with lame combat systems, terrible gui's, and only popular because rpg's in general have been spastic if not just completely fucked up. Come on, diablo was popular for christ sake, how desperate can the rpg players get? For the most part, games on consoles have actually gotten more dumbed down as time went by. How much more complex and imaginative was ffix than ffiii? Um... ooh! cut scenes! fmv cut scenes!

Then there's the console gamers themselves. Halo, the xbox king... A defining game in the genre, to hear them tell it. The next best thing since sliced bread is a really boring, preposterously easy mixture of tribes and unreal. It was old news even before they made it really really stupid so you could play it on an xbox controller without going mental. The only positive point to the game is that the fans are too busy playing it to breed, thus saving humanity from their progeny. Educate thyselves, please.

N64 is the smash brothers console, nothing else has interested me enough to waste money on something I have to hook up to a piece of shit tv to play. If you've spent enough to buy a good computer, yay 1080i!!! If you haven't, please don't even try to say your tv is actually functional for doing something besides watching tv. Even when they had good games, they just weren't functional. Just think of how much better smash brothers would have been on a monitor with a nice 1600x1200 resolution You'd consist of multiple pixels when spread out on a large map. The household tv hasn't changed much over the last 20 years, you can't do much with consoles until tv's become useful.

Also, did someone seriously say oblivion was a good game? Did I miss something there? I played a game with a lamebrain interface, really pretty graphics with really bad optimization behind them, and plot and quest mechanics that made me wish I were playing evercrap to escape some of the grinding. /wrists.

Pay no attention to the fact that both consoles and PCs have games that cater to the lowest common denominator (WoW and Halo). Really, horrible. If you want to talk about games that are on PC and not 360 or PS3 (eww) u should talk about the battlefield series and all the great RTS's. Consoles are quickly becoming the dominant platform for first person shooters, already dominate racing games, are working well with RPGS. Now, i play the shit out of Sins, but I really think that MOST of the games that have come out in recent history for PC have been pretty damn lame, save bioshock, which is on 360 as well Other than those games, and I am a fan of Halo 3 and COD4, there really hasn't been anything good to speak of.

What i'm saying here is PC exclusive games are starting to = shit unless they are RTSs.
And this is coming from someone who knows and loves computers and i have my own homebuilt gaming computer. I'm not some console crazy.

There was nothing new about the gameplay, the storyline was Predator with some twists, vehicles were garbage, the shooting was shitty, and so what if you can tackle a mission any way u want...It didn't make the missions fun...
