Alright, so I got the new patch off of fileshack first, then threw stardock, both of them cause they ai to be smarter and some stuff is working now(figured out if i set the command points to max with out research then the unfair will just build a lot of the first thing it can), but we still get the lag every few seconds while playing(pauses then goes) so um, wtf? 1.02 worked perfect, well enough that I was able to devise strats on how to deal with a running ai plus no lag. Am I doing something wrong or missing something? whats your opinions?

Intermittent pauses on large maps late game is actually an engine level issue thats been around forever -- its like a stutter, right? That just means your running slow. If you check, one of your CPUs is probably maxed out.

actauly, I am running the amd 6000+ dual core, and both are running at at around 60% and i have 4 gigs dual channel 800mghz memory with 70% used. Plus this doesnt happen in 1.02 and also it happens with in the first few mins

If both cores are at are 50-60% you could still be maxing out your cpu as the main game runs as a single thread. This thread can bounce between cores so each core looks like it is at 50%. The rest would be the other smaller threads and whatever else you have running on your pc.

I run call of duty 4 at max settings, no lag, i run forged alliance max settings, no lag(including on lan) i run ut3 max settings, no lag, you see where this is going? the only other new game that lags or has issues is crysis(but hey what do you expect from EA?)
