First off I want to say that I really like this game so far. I have a long history of these type of games with my favorites being Imperium Galactica I and II and MOO2. This is the first game I have played since those that has given me hope in this genre again. Awesome game stardock!

Ok so with that being said im having a bit of an issue using defense to keep enemy fleets in check. The problem is that even when I have superior forces and defenses in a system a fleet can come in and basically just run past my fleets and defense and start bombing my planet killing 75% of my population before I can finish them off with my fleets. They will just literally ignore my ships that are attacking them and bomb my planet. Another anoying thing is how scout type ships get right past my defense and jump to other systems and such as well. So its like im not keeping my systems clean of enemy ships even when I have space superiority.

Is there any tactics or strategies or anything im unaware of that can help me to keep a bit better enemy fleet control?
