Am I the only one who thinks some planets should have moons orbiting around them? Sometimes being slightly usable for extra resources. Or turning into a massive weapons outpost; Only moving around the planet. It would be a nice Siege deterrent. It would also have an effect on the size and shape of the gravity well. I.E. The side of the planet it is on, the gravity well is slightly larger. Taking you (or enemies in your territory) longer to escape and/or giving you (or the enemies), depending on when/where you phase jump in, more time to respond as you have more distance, if you happen Phase Jump in when the moon is on that side.

There could then obviously be some kind of Tech Research, maybe for all races or just some; that could nullify that extra bulge in the Gravity Well, or some kind of reconnaissance/sensor that knows where the Moon is, and adjust for it so you never jump into the side with the enlarged gravity well.

Edit* And also, very rarely have more then one moon!
