Good game, but I really think it could have used some more work and a LOT more bug fixing before it went out the door.
First, a nasty bug. Clicking on the "win endorsements" button causes the game to crash to desktop almost exactly half the time you click that button. The "restore auto save" function means this isn't a total disaster, but it makes it extremely tedious to play opponents like Grant, who rely on endorsements heavily, when you hesitate to respond because you're not sure if the game will crash. Let me know if you need specs for this problem.
A few minor bugs-
a- Sometimes I can't directly click on an asset, and have to tab to it. This always seems to happen when the asset is in some "weird" part of a state; it almost always happens when an asset is visually located on the Florida panhandle or on the part of Michigan on the west side of the lake, etc.
b- The credits are incomprehensible. It'll always say "Political Machine," and then what looks like 20 or so lines of text crammed into one line.
c- Rarely, a state will numerically vote for one side, but it will be colored (and its electoral votes will go) for the other side. This has never cost me an election, but it's still annoying to spend $8mil on Pennsylvania only to see it vote for Condi Rice.
Complaints-
a- I'm pretty disappointed that you guys cut out the local interview feature. Originally it seemed you were going to have both the national and local media be a factor, now I guess you only have national, which spawns randomly. I wouldn't be so unhappy if you had let us know before release that this was going to happen. There is nothing in the readme to contradict the manual's assertion that there is both a national and a local media option, I spent a while looking for the "interview button."
b- You also seem to have cut the option to do a speech on your opponent's personal characteristics. Also disappointing, also a bit annoyed that you just cut it without a word of warning, or without writing it out of the manual.
c- Has anyone of you, who MADE the game, actually every WON on Masochistic? It seems impossible, even with near-optimized campaigning.
d- Blah blah, Washington D.C., blah.
Otherwise, though, an excellent and fun little game. Try to keep those really cool features in next time, and have those bugs fixed soon, if you can. Again, I'd appreciate an answer to the first bug (exit when pressing endorsements button) whenever possible, let me know if I need to give you specs.
