I only really have two complaints with this brilliant, brilliant, brilliant game is one that should be easy to fix. Heck, maybe there is a solution and I just don't see it. Basically I think there should be a research queue manager of some sort. In other words, if I have 15 or 20 research items queued up, it's very irritating to suddenly realize I need a specific item (let's say that my enemy has switched to a fighter heavy strategy and I need def. frigates NOW) and then have to go through and individually cancel each research. It's hard to see all the small icons with tiny numbers on them (I'm in 1440x900 res on a 21" widescreen monitor) and click them all. Then I have to select what I actually want to research, then queue up everything else again. A way to insert a research item into the beginning of the queue would be wonderful. Maybe even just an alt+click to move an item to the front.
The second complaint has probably been addressed and, again, there may be a fix that I don't know about. I hate, hate, HATE the auto-focus when zooming in and out. Now, don't get me wrong. I LOVE strategic zoom. When it came out in Supcom, I knew that every RTS from then out would have to have it. It's so brilliant, like box selections. It's essential. But when I zoom in and my dang viewpoint catches on a fighter or a trade ship and suddenly I'm coasting away from the action, it's very irritating. Granted, I could just mouse to the edge of the screen to stop it, but it is an annoyance. A fix of an option to turn that off would be perfect.
Anywho, those two fixes would be great.
Also, a pji fix, but SO many other people are talking about that so I'd rather not weigh in. Well, except to say that one fellow suggested an entire star blockade that's a castable ability using antimatter. The pji could use this in addition to its jump slowing effect. That way any number of abilities could stop it, and the cast would only last maybe 30 seconds or so. Research could increase that. I'd love to have 30 seconds to do some damage to someone before they leave my fortress system for my undefended inner worlds.
