I waited this game since last year when i heard about it. I liked nexus and homeworld series. This seemed similar. I liked to think this would be another great game. But this is only good game.
What is missing or done wrong in my opinion.
Game has only one goal. get many planets as possible and research fleet support so you can build massive fleet. All else is pointless.
Defensive strategy is too powerless.
Diplomancy is strange and missing. I ingore it.
What this game needs by my opinion is:
Good solid thinking behind game universe(making it more like real universe)
defensive structures are certain ration more better than some ship.
example. 1 gauss cannon should have like 5 more armor than some cheap frigate and 5-10 times firepower.
research tree something different. about half fleet is researched, you would think that you should only research some prototype, shield and weapons things.
planetary defense should be less micro/macro, example you should only click 1 button which would be basic defense which would build 4 gauss around planet strategic places. medium and heavy buttons. Would make thing less monotonic.
Campaing missing, where is good story, easy to make.
I could think many more thinks wrong/missing with this game but i only wrote some.
Good things:
Space and zooming.
No copyprotection.
Seems to have nice AI.
Game developers seems to listen players which is always good thing. I didn't write this to be negative or saying that this game is no good, but because i would like to see these things made "right" or some logic behind them.
