Ok, so I've been playing the game for a little while now, and have come to the conclusion that huge maps are a nightmare. Been going at it for about 6 hours now, have half of one star system under control and have as many cap ships as I can get, mostly Kols, and a veritable horde of frigates and cruisers. My adversaries are doing much the same, just took on about half a dozen marzas backed up by at least a hundred cobalts, and what is really starting to bug me is wormholes. As I understand it, where they connect to is somewhat random, and that random element has resulted in them having connections with other star systems, so instead of just dealing with "local" empires clawing at my backside, so to speak, I have the dominant powers in other system launching hundreds of vessels at me, in some cases a dozen planets away from my offensive forces, and to call enough back results in me not being able to crack my adversaries planetary defenses. I already place as many turrets plus hangers and repair stations, but when the enemy decides they want something, they take it. Anyone have any suggestions, aside from finding all their planets and destroying them without bothering to consolidate (trying that soon, probably won't end well)
