Anyone else take serious issue with this game?

I've been following Sins since, God, at least mid '06. I lost interest periodically as it kept getting delayed, but I pre-ordered a couple weeks ago when I saw that the release date had finally been definitively set.
Honestly my problem is not so much with the game itself; it's an inaminate object, it doesn't intend me any harm, it bears me no malice. I don't even have a CD I could break. No, my problem is with the developers: you people have ruined my life.
I'm at university tring to balance a rigorous courseload, work, a girlfriend, and squeezing in sleep whenever I'm allowed, and here you guys come with your little 'talent' and 'innovation' and '3rd degree blackbelts in raw kick-ass' and send my delicate juggling act straight to hell. I can't put this game down. I'm falling behind on homework, bearly sleeping anymore, the rings are piling up under my eyes, and I can't concentrate on anything but that beautiful cloud of debris that results when my fleets obliterate a Vasari orbital network, all because of you.

All joking aside, though, this is an amazing game. All your hard work really paid off. Keep it up!

It's 2.30 am here as I'm writing this , I have work in 4 hours and have just left a game to come and see if there were any strat threads here I could read to pick up some tips (I'm stuck in stalemate) I feel your pain

I just spent the past 2-hours getting my ass kicked by the AI, and I enjoyed every second of it. This is probably the first RTS I've played where losing isn't frustrating because you don't feel like you got bum rushed by cheating AI.

I'm considering filing a complaint with the FCC about Sin's uncanny similarity to the most vile substance known to man, "Video Game Crack". I was up til 7 am on an uncontrolled Advent binge, intent on domination of the galaxy. I cackled with glee when waves of TEC ships met their doom in nova-bright Anti-matter fueled explosions that vented their fury in the cold depths of space. But no, sins did not only haunt my waking moments, for when I stumbled groggily to my bed the sleek dark shapes of capitol ships slid effortlessly through my dreams.

hehehe...trying sleeping after working on game all week.  You look up at the sky and say "Not too bad a skybox"  or watch the birds flock together, or the ripples in the water and think "I know what affectors they used to make those particles work like that"  or stare at the middle of a red light and see the little bit of yellow at the core...ahhhh you never escape

To be honest, I don't really like this game all that much. There's something about the pacing and somewhat shallow tech tree that doesn't appeal to me. Then again, I guess I'm more of a TBS person.

Oddly enough though, every time I start it up to "give the game another chance", I can't stop playing it until I beat the AI (or it beats me), even if it takes me 5 hours+ and I should be fast asleep due to work in the morning.

Yeah, I'm not quite sure what's going on there...

well for one, if the girlfriend has a problem with you playing this constantly, dump her sorry *ss. it took me many years to find the one that tolerated my obscene video game habit. they are out there.


Sadly, this guy is absolutely correct, and I still haven't found one. I like video gaming. You like video gaming. It's a hobby, a passions, it's something you DO.

If you were really into tattoos, would you date a chick that constantly told you "I can't believe you put that on you, you know you're gonna have that the rest of your life, right?"

If you're into cars, how long would you tolerate a woman who constantly complained about how much noise you were making, and would complain that you "spend more on the car then you do on me?"

even if it was megan fox or the blonde chick from transformers, i'd tell them to gtfo if they wanted me to stop gaming. my wife rules.

anyway, yea i just put in another 15 hours tonight. called out of work today, so i'm just gonna continue playing the rest of today. why break precident? sleep is overrated, so is work.
