I have been a beta tester since beta three (many of you know me)
Now that I have beeten one hard player with the TEC, and with the Advent, I will now voice my final oppinion about the game.......
...THIS GAME ROCKS!!!!!
I am very glad I bought it. thier are no words in the english languge that express how awsome I think this game is.
I will now list thing about this game that I don't like. Note that if I don't mention a feature, it probably means that I REALY like that feature I don't meanton (just for any noobs who get the wrong impression)
I found the general atmosphere surprising, the beta was alot more "angular" and economic look to the beta, and the final realease seem alot more "fluffy" if you get my meaning, this is not good, or bad, just something I noticed.
Also, all the "close" buttons are in defernt spots, so that through me off. It will take me a little bit to adjust to this game.
Two things I think should be changed, one is the grouping/fleets they way this is done is a little wierd. Overall I think fleets are awsome, and how the ship wont join a fleet unil it is in the same grav well of the fleet it is going too is awsome. However I like too set my fleet as group one, this gives a small problem in that ships no longer join the group, only the fleet. Now everyonce and awile, I have to reset my numbers. What would be good is if you could assing fleets a number, but not the ships. So any ship in that is is the group number. Also I liked being able to pin groups, one thing I did was group my HW. This works very well if the group then became pinned.
The second thing that still needs to be fixed is something that should have been fixed early beta four. The devs must have been eather negligent or forgetfull since this was not in final realease. Thier was a large discusion on this matter before, and many stand behind me when I say..... UN-BUILT STRUCTURES SHOULD NOT BE TARGETABLE!!!
Also, The AI strikes me as still being easy, I am not a skilled player (ask eets!) and I was able to beat the hard AI first game through.
Sorry for the long post, but I had to get it out.
One last thing, too all the noobs who think pirates are too powerfull, I easily repelled them in my first game, you MUST realize that guass/missile/beam defense platforms are WEAK!! they are meant to be so. you must build AT LEAST eight to ten defense platforms to be able to repel anything. My SMALLEST defence I ever build is two repair platforms, two hangers, and eight defense, and this is not even enough to repel a full on attack by even moderate AI.
