1. Its too slow, and takes way too long to finish a game, and I've only played on small random.
40 minutes? Is that all? Games of Age of Empires last longer than that...I've played longer games of C&C Generals for crying out loud. What kind of ultra-fast paced starcraft were you expecting?
2. In all 10 games, I've fought my "actual" opponent twice. The other times its all been me vs. pirates.
You know, I keep hearing about the pirate problem. I've never encountered it myself, as I usually win the bidding wars and then wipe out the pirate base but I guess it can be a bit of a problem. Personally I'd prefer a system where raids were more common but less powerful.
3. There is nothing to do in this game but wait for resources, which clearly means they don't generate fast enough so that we can buy stuff. This contributes to the slow factor... This game needs to be at least 5x faster so that games can be played within a reasonable period of time. Games that take hours to finish, skirmish wise, fail.
1. If you're waiting for resources you don't have enough planets
2. There's a speed option in the game setup menu
3. I played a 5 hour game yesterday. It was probably the best time I've ever had playing a strategy game. This is not supposed to be an ultra-fast RTS.
4. I think once IGN rates this game, its over... We will all move on... Sigh...
Given IGN's track record with Stardock games and long games (they had a series about a guy who played Galactic Civ 2 on a huge galaxy for a month, same game) I highly doubt Sins will get anything less that a high rating.
