The primary reason behind my purchasing this game is to support developers such as myself who do not believe in restricting a user’s access to software which they have paid for.
I sincerely hope this game sells well and serves as a message to other development houses and potential developers that if you respect your user-base and do not treat them like criminals that they will respond in kind by creating a productive and supportive community.
As a developer myself I understand the necessity to protect what I have created, but once a dedicated group of users decides to crack DRM, there is no extent to which they will not go. Because of this, the negative effects of DRM are limited only to valid customers who have legally purchased the software, and not to the pirates who have removed said DRM and uploaded their frankenstein versions to popular P2P networks.
This is an inherently flawed system and in its' current form serves only to frustrate paying customers and embolden pirates.
Support those that respect you and treat you with dignity.
