3d movement, payment and ratings

3d movement, payment and ratings

I have only three questions for this game.

First, Will i be able to move my ships in 3d movement such as up and down, left and right ?
Is this game going to be similar to homeworld in 3d movement where i can move my ship horozontal and vertical such as moving my ships up and down and left and right ?
Think of it as a algebra quetion where there is x-axis and y-axis in 3d movement. Where in 3d movement, can you move up and down in x axis and left and right in y axis.

Second, When i buy this game and start playing online, do i have to pay to play, will there be a monthly fees for this game ?

Third, for those who have played the game, how would you rate this game as in terms of gameplay,graphics and sound.

no pay to play, and the fx (placeholders to be replaced by shinier, happier new versions) are awesome. The 3d situation is complicated, and I'll leave it to somebody with more energy to explain.

1)Yes, there is 3D movement on every axis. The movement is much more intuitive than homeworld. On a game of this scale, where you could have 3 or more 'homeworld-sized' battles at one time, fortunately you don't have to worry about the axis at all.

2)There are no monthly fees at all.  Just the opposite - we will be providing new free updates after release.

3)I am definitely biased with this one   but as a gamer I have a tremendous amount of fun playing SINS and it can be tempting not to work.

We know... Wasn't the game supposed to be out in 2006...

Yeah, this game is incredibly fun. As in, Starcraft 2 had better watch its back fun. As in, the only reason Starcraft 2 is in the running is because of the hype / power of it being a blizzard product / sequel to "the" RTS of all time (to date -- Sins is gonna make a try to dislodge SC from that pinnacle).

I think that people are just buying this game to end the story! It has been almost TEN years since Brood War.

sequel to "the" RTS of all time

their trailer even says "Its about time"

And yes sins is going to kick its butt.

That too (That is the only reason I'm going to buy it -- and that only after they get around to dropping the price, soooo sorry blizzard.)


And yes sins is going to kick its butt.


I don't think blizzard even knows it... yet.

I haven't really had a lot of fun with a RTS since the last Homeworld, and it has taken me a while to figure out why. I think it is the lack of a sense of scale. I love having control of massive fleets, engaging in giant battles.

WC3 was a huge letdown for me with it's focus on so few units. And as nice as it is that SC2 seems to be based around higher unit numbers like the old one, I just can't see regular sized maps feeling "epic" anymore.

The Sins gravity well concept for dividing up a map and creating choke points in a space RTS is really unlike anything else out there. It lets the planets remain decent sized and allows everything to be spread out to more plausible dimensions without making the universe seem empty. I am really looking forward to playing, but I am also really looking forward to how it will afect strategy games in general when regular maps suddenly seem small to everyone.

Hmm, I guess we'll have to wait and see, considering that no one has played SC 2.

Although I usually play on the smaller and medium sized maps the experience of playing on a scale like this is something i've never felt in a game before. The first time I hyperspaced to a new solar system it was hard to explain how exciting it was to watch my little scout zipping across deep space, anxiously anticipating an entirely new solar system to explore and exploit. I zoomed in close after its long journey and as it was approaching the whole environment changed in real time  - the star, background, dust clouds, a new set planets and hostiles waiting to greet me
