After reading the the topic i have a question, How the vasari will last to late game(gate tech). I mean if tec can outpower them in quantity of ships all game long, how the vasari will have resourses to counter tec and level up?
But while the Vasari have fewer ships and need fleet capacity upgrades earlier, each of their ships has 30% more hull/shields, as well as self repair for skirmishers and shield upgrades, both at tech 2 and both to give them an edge against the TEC.
If i am a Tec player and im fighting an enemy that cant match my numbers i will attack in several systems at the same time, one time after the other, till he cant build defenses quickly enough or ships to counter.
The best of vasari to win will be to make chooke points and try to hold Tec long enough to build a web of phase gates to attack undefended Tec systems.
Are you playing MP or single against the AI?
Also, that's not how phase gates work. You build them in your territory to allow yourself to move around faster and reinforce faster. Only when combined with the Antorak's ultimate can you use phase gates to jump fleets into enemy systems. Other than that scenario, having phase gates or not makes no difference in what you can attack.
Well if this cant be countered in small/medium maps is crap. if vasari are only a good option for big maps, MP will became boring.
There are plenty of ways to play Vasari well in small/medium maps with or without phase gates. Most of the long time beta testers have been playing with TEC for so long that we know pretty much every nook and cranny about them and have hammered out good concrete strategies. The Vasari haven't been available for long, and many people seem to forget that it should take a while to master and figure out the optimal way to start and all the viable strategies.
