The option he was talking about with buying the game using tokens (which I'm surprised no one else touched on since it came up) really only had to do with us late comers who really wanted to get in after they closed Beta 1. Here's the down and dirty:
When Beta 1 closed people were forced to wait for Beta 2 to come out (which sounds reasonable). What was not counted on was that while the pre-ordering system allowed them to do that with Stardock, it didn't stop the ability to use TGN (Total Gaming Network) tokens to pre-order the game. Doing that still allowed users to get into the closed beta 1.
Now why did I say all of this? Hopefully this kills off rumors such as the one that started from someone saying that you need to pre-order the game in a "special" way. I thought it was special enough that you could do this all online. Ya don't even have to leave your computer to get your hands on this.
This information is also extremly irelivent because, as of the time this post was entered, the beta was still open and will remain to be so for all new pre-orders until the 31st of July. So all you aspiring megalomaniacs that want your own galaxy to call yours (yeah, that's me too), ya still have plenty of time to jump in if you want to be part of history (Honestly, what developer actually gave their end users the ability to actually affect the end product from all the way back into the engine of the game and not just bugs? I mean really?).
Also, hopefully that exploit gets fixed so it doesn't work when Beta 2 is closed (not really

).
