What do we know about the Advent & Vasari?

Okey, im gonna collect all our knowledge about the 2 races here.

So if some of you remember something, or i am wrong, ill edit the post

NOTE: some of the info might be outdated, when we get to see them in action
But lets see what we remember or know from some of the interviews
Any ideas for this thread, is most welcome





¤ Telekinetic - Used by a Carrier, it has is a number of different telekinetic operators, or abilities. One of its key abilities, to defend fighters and bombers and other stuff, is a
telekinetic push. When it activates this [ability], everything within a certain radius is literally thrown away from the ship and basically stranded out in space for a bit until they can regain their bearings. There are a number of different uses for that [the telekinetic push], depending on what you're trying to accomplish. Info link
¤ Psychic Aura - Is used onto the planet, and it causes everyone on the planet to riot and kill each other, destroy structures Info link
¤ Mind Control - Used to control enemy ships for short period of time. Cannot be used on Capital ships Info link

Known Facts:
¤ Weak hulls, Strong Shields





¤ Phase gates - Used by a ship called the Marauder. This ship has its own portable phase gate, so you can jump it into a target area, activate the portable phase gate, and bring in all the other ships, bypassing any potential bottlenecks, defenses and whatnot. Info link
¤ Mobile City's - Used to harvest a planets resources from space, and for population Info link
¤ Alter Phase Signature - Used by the JiTirska Scout ship. Sends false phase jump signatures to a target planet to mislead hostile players into believing that your capital ships are en route. Can alternatively be used on friendly capital ships to mask their phase jump signature, preventing them from being detected in transit by sensors at the destination planet. Info link

Known Facts:
¤ They dont use alot of ships, but they are very strong

Wasn't the Vasari scoutship able to create a (possibly temporary) Phase Gate?

Um...no, I'll do a little digging though.

Aha! This thread that I posted when I was still a baby forumite, more specifically a reply posted by the mighty Schem, makes reference to a Vasari ship capable of creating Phase Gates.

(In regards to Phase Gates):

but the only things confirmed so far to have that is the vasari fighter ship.


This thread was posted while the ships section was still online.

J'Tirska scout ship or something like that it was called.

Anyway, without the ships section, thats all we're likely to find.

Regardless, its 11pm here and lead weights have attached themselves to my eyelids, I'll go into hibernation and return tomorrow.

Just added the Mobile City's to the Vasari

oh and found this, that leads to believe the Phasegate is Vasari tech

The main technological advancement of the [Vasari Empire] is...they can manipulate gravity, and...an equivalent to hyperspace jumping, which can be used in tactical situations, as well as for long-range travel.

Yeah, but what about that "race?" thing that the Vasari's only survivng mega-fleet is running like hell from. The thing that destroyed their main civilization at the inner center of the Galaxy.

I believe that will be better explained in the Single Player story...

I also get the sense of "EXPANSION" when I think of the 4th mysterious race.

Yeah, your probably right. They're going to milk that part of the story line through our wallets, but that's okay since this game is going to be worth it. I have a feeling (I know not many many people will agree) that the other unknown "race?" may turn out to be an entirely organic nemisis like the Yuuzhan Vong from the Star Wars expanded universe novels. I think it's plausable because it would be the perfect contrast to the other three more technologically grounded races we currently have. Just a thought.

Where did you hear about that?
i know Blair said something about an extra tech tree, but i guess he meant the artifact one or did you mean what the Vasari is fleeing from?

Could be some cosmic catastrophe, like a blackhole, some weird experiment that failed, and is destroying everything in its patch.
Or as you say maybe a 4th race, who knows? YARLEN... lets bug him tomorrow hahaha

I also remember a thing about the Vasari being able to create phoney phase signatures to throw off sensors, no link for that one I'm afraid, just plying my memory.

what about the 2 races advantages and disadvantages like vasari got super good ships but they cost alot dont know about advent i think there ships are more advanced than tec but not as good as vasari and a think thier ships are structually weak i think i read that somewhere.

it could be some kind of other race which is all gribbly and scary and use things that make other ships flee like in the vasari story where one ship comes from thier darck fleet heavily hurt and the crew was mad with fear.

Made a section called Known Facts

There is also a thing i remember about the Advent, something where they can use holographic images, so they can apear to have a larger fleet, then they actualy do. And should be shootable in combat, but they wont take damage.
I read it in some interview, cant seem to find it atm
